How To Dress For Business Meetings ft. Seoul Z Magazine

We got the amazing opportunity to be interviewed by Seoul Z Magazine. A little bit about their company, they are a media website promoting small businesses located in Korea. I am honored to be a part of their series of articles in which I share my tips and secrets on how men can become the best version of themselves. Throughout the interview we were able to dive deep into Jen Auh services and SUIT MAKE products. This specific series focuses on how to dress for business meetings, let me break it down.

How Should You Be Presented At Meetings?

Shirts and Blazers

In any occasion but specifically for business meetings, it is always better to overdress than under dress. In this case, a blazer and a crew neck shirt tucked in will be the best pairing. Take a look at my blog post regarding closet essentials that breaks down 3 pieces of clothing you should always have accessible. One of them being a navy blazer because it is a color that matches everything.

In a black tie event, a tie is recommended. Remember, white and light blue are colors that always compliment each other. It is important to ensure that your white shirt is a material thick enough that you won’t be able to see through.

This can potentially be unprofessional and too revealing which needs to be avoided at all cost. If a tie is not required, wearing a dress shirt with 2 buttons undone from the top and a blazer is a great look.

Belts

If you are going for a casual look, a weave belt is great.

It is perfect because it comes in multiple colors and does not have holes so you don’t have to worry about wearing the incorrect size. Get colors such as navy, grey and brown to cover all the basics. It goes well with denim, chinos, khakis, and any pants you may have in your wardrobe.

Shoes

When dressing for a business meeting of course no sandals or athletic shoes but opt for white fashion sneakers with no logo. When wearing socks, make sure it is no show socks. With the exception, in the winter wear long enough socks that cover your ankles.

Accessories

As for additional add ons, you want to keep things clean and simple, nothing too flashy. I do not recommend a man purse but a tote or a clutch instead. Put your belongings in there to ensure your pockets are not too full. Bulky pockets can distort your figure and does not look flattering with the overall image. For watches a brown leather strap is a closet must-have.

With this series we were able to focus on how to make a great impression in a business setting. Take a look at our other series to learn how to be more fashion forward in multiple scenarios.
